Dingsheng Machine Introduces Comprehensive Soybean Oil Production Line Solutions
Date:Sep 9th, 2024
The soybean oil production process involves treating soybeans through either the pressing or solvent extraction method to obtain crude oil, which is then refined to produce high-quality edible soybean oil. The pressing method is a purely physical process that includes steps such as crushing, cooking, pressing, and filtering. While this method retains more nutrients from the soybeans, the oil yield is relatively lower. In contrast, the solvent extraction method uses chemical solvents to extract the oil, resulting in a higher oil yield, though it may affect the purity and flavor of the oil.
Both methods have their unique advantages and applications. At Dingsheng Machine, we provide scientifically designed, practical soybean oil production line solutions based on your specific requirements.
Soybean Pre-Treatment Process
Before producing soybean oil, soybeans must undergo a series of pre-treatment steps including cleaning, crushing, softening, flaking, and extrusion to prepare them for oil production.
Soybean Screening
The first step in pre-treatment is screening, which primarily involves sieving and de-stoning. Large impurities are removed using a cleaning sieve, metallic contaminants are eliminated with a magnetic separator, and hard impurities such as sludge are removed using a debris remover. Equipped with a dust collection system, this ensures a clean soybean raw material.
Soybean Crushing
Crushing is an essential step in the pre-treatment process. If the moisture content is below 13%, soybeans can be directly crushed into 2-4 pieces. If the moisture content exceeds 13%, the soybeans need to be dried before crushing. Crushing increases the surface area, improving the steaming process.
Soybean Softening & Flaking
Softening is an important pre-treatment step before flaking, where the moisture content is adjusted to make the material softer and more pliable. Flaking breaks the cellular structure of the soybeans, allowing oil to be more easily extracted from the flakes.
Pressing Process
Soybean Oil Pressing Technology
The soybean oil pressing method uses a screw press to physically extract oil under pressure from pre-treated soybeans that have been cleaned, de-stoned, crushed, steamed, and extruded. Screw presses have daily production capacities ranging from 1 ton to 50 tons. The oil yield in physical pressing typically ranges from 65% to 70%, making it ideal for small and medium-sized soybean oil processing plants.
The main process flow for soybean oil pressing:
1. Soybean Pre-Treatment
2. Pressing
3. Filtration
4. Crude Soybean Oil
Extraction Process
Soybean Oil Solvent Extraction Technology
Since soybeans have a relatively low oil content (15-22%), solvent extraction is generally used to maximize oil yield and achieve better economic benefits. This process involves crushing, softening, and soaking the soybeans in a chemical solvent to dissolve the oil, which is then evaporated to leave behind the oil. After extraction, the residual oil in the cake is usually less than 1%, and the soybean meal can be used for animal feed.
Soybean Extrusion Process
Soybean extrusion involves using an extruder to expand and form the crushed, flaked soybeans into porous granules. Extrusion is a high-temperature, short-duration process that combines mixing, crushing, heating, expansion, and shaping. The temperature typically reaches 110-200°C, with a residence time of 1-3 minutes in the machine.
Refining Process
Soybean Oil Refining Technology
The soybean oil refining process involves deep processing and purification of the extracted oil. Through steps such as degumming, neutralization, decolorization, and deodorization, harmful and unnecessary substances are removed, improving the oil’s stability for storage and ensuring that its color and flavor meet edible oil standards.
