Dingsheng Machine provide technologies of biofuel production technologies from oil palm and palm oil processing wastes
Date:Dec 16th, 2022
Dingsheng Machine has designed the technology to produce biodiesel from oil palm and palm oil processing waste, developing cost-effective, environment-friendly and profitable biofuel tproduction echnology.
Biofuels – liquids or gases made from plant products including oil crops such as palm, soy, corn, coconut and rapeseed. Palm oil is considered as an alternative and promising feedstock to further diversified the biodiesel production in the global market. Palm oil contains various phytonutrients that can be separated out prior to biodiesel production.
Among others, biodiesel is often manufactured from palm oil. As the most productive source of vegetable oil, 1 hectare of land planted with oil palm can produce up to 3.5 tonnes of oil. This is far above canola, the second most productive crop, where 1 hectare of canola can only produce around 0.8 tonne of oil. The transesterification overall yield of the palm olein. For the optimum mix, 2.4 L of palm olein oil reacted with methanol to produce 1.5 L of biodiesel and 0.9 L of glycerol. The average transesterification trials gave 62.5% biodiesel yield from the oil.
There are a number of advantages in using palm oil for the production of biofuel. Unlike fossil fuels, the combustion of palm oil biofuel does not increase the level of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere as the oil is merely returning carbon dioxide obtained earlier from the atmosphere through photosynthesis.
Palm oil biodiesel is nontoxic and biodegradable in addition to emitting far fewer carbon emissions than traditional petro-diesel. In addition to palm oil biodiesel, oil palm tree biomass can be turned into methane, bio-plastics, organic acids, bio-compost, active carbon, plywood, and animal feedstock.
Over the last decades, the palm oil industry has been growing rapidly due to increasing demands for food, cosmetic, and hygienic products. Aside from producing palm oil, the industry generates a huge quantity of residues (dry and wet) which can be processed to produce biofuel. Driven by the necessity to find an alternative and renewable energy/fuel resources, Dingsheng Machine has developed numerous technologies have been developed and more are being developed to process oil-palm and palm-oil wastes into biofuel. These technologies can be classified into high temperature pyrolysis technologies, acid base technologies, hydrolytic acidification technologies, biological enzyme technologies and supercritical technologies.
