Fish oil refers to the oil made of fish as raw materials, including fish body oil and fish liver oil. Fish oil also includes aquatic animal oils such as fish and other whales, dolphins, etc. It is an important raw material for food, medicine and chemistry. The main component of fish oil is Omega-3 fatty acids (including DHA and EPA). It is a diverse unsaturated fatty acid that can reduce inflammation, reduce blood fat, and prevent cardiovascular disease.
After refining or hydrogenation process, it is used to make soap, fatty acids, surfactants, etc., and can also be used to cure industry as lipidas, oil tannants, and preparation of coatings. Typically, crude fish oil must undergo refining steps prior to being considered safe for consumption or use as food supplements. Fish oil refining process generally includes four steps, degumming, deacidification, decolorization, and deodorization.
There are many ways to extract fish oil based on different raw materials and uses, such as heating dry frying technology, high pressure water-proof cooking technology, and enzymolysis technology.
However, most of the fish oil comes from by -products of processing fish flour. The traditional fishmeal processing process is the wet method and dry method. The dry fish flour process reduces the pressing process, so no fish oil is separated.
During the production of fish powder, the oil separated by squeezing still contains a small amount of protein, mucus, phospholipids, FFA, and fish protein, which is called coarse oil. Its acid price is high, the color is darker, and have the smell. It cannot be eaten directly or used as a drug raw material. Therefore, it must be refined and reached a certain quality indicator.

Deacidification process is one of the most important processes of fish oil refining, and neutralizing deacidification process can remove the free fatty acids in coarse oil.
Decolorization process is to add white soil or activated carbon to remove natural pigments such as carotene, lutein, shrimin, and algae lutein.
Winterization process can not only reduce the solidification point of fish oil, but also change the fat-proof composition of fish oil. In particular, it can improve the content of EA and DHA of liquid oil, and further increase the value of fish oil.
Deodorization process can remove the decomposition products of low molecular meal meal, ketone, acid substances and proteins produced by fat oxidation and decomposition in crude oil. The vacuum vapor deodorization method is used to heat the oil to 100 ~ 110C under vacuum conditions, and then keep the oil temperature at 160-170C by heating the steam 3-4hours. After the deodorization process is over, the oil temperature is reduced to 50C for filtration.
